The Sexually Transmitted Infections Foundation (STIF) Course, developed by the British Association of Sexual Health & HIV (BASHH) is a two day multidisciplinary course designed to equip participants with the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes for the required for the diagnosis, management and prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) outside the GUM setting. It comprises of approximately 10 hours of e-learning as preparation, followed by one STIF CORE: Foundation day and one STIF PLUS day.

The course is suitable for Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Health Advisers and Doctors from Primary Care, Contraception / Sexual Health services, GUM services and secondary care clinicians who may encounter patients with STIs.
The course is not intended to measure or certify the competency of healthcare providers.
